In the late 1990’s, there was an episode of E!’s “Mysteries and Scandals” that centered on the death of eternal sex-symbol Marilyn Monroe.  Host, A.J. Benza, shot some of his segments for this episode in a darkened cemetery directly in front of Marilyn’s crypt.  As I watched this particular episode (no doubt just killing time before Jules Asner appeared on my TV) it suddenly, and rather ludicrously, occurred to me that, yes, dead celebrities are buried in cemeteries just like the rest of the public.

And, then I realized that you can probably visit most celebrities if you know where to look.

This began, what many of my friends refer to as, my “strange hobby” of visiting famous gravesites. Something I have now been doing since my first trip to Los Angeles a year or so after watching that stupid E! show. And I found Marilyn…and so many other formerly-alive celebrities just waiting to be visited.

This blog is just my way of paying tribute to and helping others find them.

There are many places I still have yet to get to for one reason or another, and many graves left unfound.  But, it’s a start.  Enjoy.

  2. Hi there. How come you do not have Whitney Houston included in your site? She is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ

    • Hi there. Short answer is: Because I haven’t gotten there yet. There are a lot of NYC area graves I have yet to get to. But, Whitney is at the top of my list the next time I’m in that area.
